Spartan T-shirts to be handed out at basketball game

Special Spartan basketball T-shirts are being given away to the first 400 fans who enter Spartan Gym for the last Spartan home basketball games of the season on Wednesday night, Feb. 1. Senior night is also being celebrated at the games. The varsity girls' game starts at 5:45 p.m. and the varsity boys' game at 7:00 p.m.

Kathy and Ron Hjelmeseth’s Str8 Jacket T’s company has gathered 19 local businesses to sponsor the T-shirt giveaway. The couple are printing a special Spartan design on the front of the shirts and have listed all the names of varsity and junior varsity players, as well as cheerleaders and coaches, on the back side. 

Sponsors include: Hello Gorgeous Salon, SJB Construction, Forks Outfitters, Pacific Inn Motel, Alder Grove Mobile Home Park, Forks Avenue Real Estate, Sunset Lanes, Anderson Electric, Whiteheads Auto Parts, Sully’s Drive-In, Moe’s Handyman Service, B & P Auto Repair, Olympic Sporting Goods, Home Slice Take N’ Bake, Big Man Meats, Forks Motel, Abrahams Cutting, Inc., Dahlgren Logging Inc. and Str8 Jacket T’s.

The Hjelmeseths now offer a wide variety of apparel that can be given custom decorations such as Spartan logos. They also produce large display cloth banners for publicizing businesses and events, and can embroider logos and other designs on clothing and hat wear. Their shop is located adjacent to Laundry 101 at 781 S. Forks Ave. 

On Friday night, Jan. 27, the last regular-season wrestling match is being held, against Rochester High School, starting at 5 p.m. Watch for a special Pee Wee wrestling exhibition at 4:30 p.m. prior to the high school wrestling match.
