Building athletes for the future

WEYL basketballs

Former West End Youth League players Mark Jacobson and Braden Decker gave back to today's WEYL children on Thursday, March 29 in the Forks Elementary School gym. The two Spartan athletes distributed 40 basketballs to the children. The big day for the WEYL kids was supported with donations from local merchants and individuals. Jacobson and Decker completed their Class of 2013 senior project in part by coaching a first- and second-grade WEYL basketball team. Players from all the teams in their WEYL received a ball at the after-school event with hopes they will use the balls to keep practicing after league play is finished this year. Additional basketballs were donated to the WEYL program for future use.
