ONRC fire lesson

Chris Cook - Forks Forum photo

Forks Elementary School kindergarten student Kaylyn Price shoots a stream of water from a hose attached to a state Department of Natural Resources pumper. Showing the young girl how to handle a fire hose is DNR Fire-Forester Two Travis Peek from Aberdeen. Kindergarten classes from Forks Elementary School and the Quileute Tribal School spent Thursday morning, May 24 at Olympic Natural Resources Center's annual Nature Days fun classes. Students also learned to identify forest animals and birds, assembled drawings of Smokey the Bear and took part in other fun learning experiences.
