Forks High School senior and four-year wrestling letterman James Salazar fights for position in his final high school dual match on Wednesday evening, Jan. 23 in the Spartan Gym. James won 10 – 3.

Forks High School Wrestling Coach Bob Wheeler's Spartan team completed an undefeated Southwest Washington League Evergreen Division season on Wednesday evening, Jan. 23 with a win over Hoquiam.

 Here's Coach Wheeler's report on the dual match.

Forks became league champions of the 1A Evergreen league Wednesday night, Jan. 23 defeating Hoquiam 55-17. In this last dual match of the season Forks became the undefeated champions at 6-0. Once again no Forks varsity wrestler was pinned, as Forks won eight of the twelve contested matches. Forks ended the season at 8-1 overall in dual matches.

The winners in the match against Hoquiam were as follows:

106 pounds Garrett Brito won by pin.

113 Kim Barragan won by pin

120 Alan Ensastegui won by pin

126 Javier Contreras won by pin

132 Nanito Sanchez won by forfeit

138 Ricky Barragan won by major dec.

160 James Salazar won by major dec.

182 Gavin Castaneda won by pin

220 Joel Ward won by technical fall

285 Miguel Morales won by forfeit
