Many checked out the library grand reopening

The Forks community and library lovers of all ages came together to celebrate the completion of the library's recent remodel with a grand reopening event on Dec. 21.

Refreshments, live music and guided tours of the library branch were offered. Theresa Tetreau, West End library supervisor, said that an estimated 300 people may have attended the event, and was pleased that it was so well received. "Everyone was so positive," Tetreau said.

The $835,000 project included a new roof, new energy-efficient heating/ventilation systems, insulated windows, new wall and floor coverings, a new conference room, renovated restrooms, an updated meeting room, new technology including an express-checkout station, and more.
