Beaver Fourth Gale Hansen contributed photos
Gale Hansen from Comax, Vancouver Island contacted the Forks Forum this week, and provided scans of the photos. The original prints are headed to the Forks Timber Museum.
“Hope these are clear enough that your readers can perhaps, see a relative.  I am doing this as I feel these photos should be in a museum there where folks can enjoy them.
“My maternal Grandmother was born in Tyee, in 1890. and came to Comox about 10 years later. She married into the Comox Valley pioneer Cliffe family. It was a large family and most of the seven men worked for Comox Logging for their life. My Grandmother’s mother was a Balch, which I imagine you would know. When I check the web I see the name Balch is well noted in various historical sites of your area. I have found Higgins (her married name) and Balch in old cenus documents of Maine.”
