New DOL System Impacts Services

The Clallam County Auditor’s Office is advising its Department of Licensing customers to expect longer wait times mid-month as a new statewide DOL computer system is launched.

The upgraded vehicle and boat titling and registration system, called DRIVES, goes live Monday, Dec. 12. Customer service times are expected to be impacted in the days immediately before and following the launch as DOL employees learn the new system.

The change will affect service at the Clallam County Department of Licensing, located within Auditor’s Office in the Clallam County Courthouse at 223 E. 4th St. in Port Angeles, as well as its DOL sub-agencies in Sequim and Forks.

The Washington State Department of Licensing is also advising vehicle licensing customers can avoid longer wait times by renewing tabs in-person prior to Dec. 9 or online prior to Dec. 6. Additional details about affected services are available online at www.dol.wa.gov.

The Clallam County Department of Licensing provides vehicle and vessel licensing services, including tab renewal, issuing license plates, replacing lost titles, transferring ownership, and renewing boat registrations. It is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
