There is a little notice on one of the windows in the post office informing us that the Navy is installing a "Pacific Northwest Warfare Range." It gave very little information on what it is, what it will do to the residents of this area, or our animals, plants air or health. It doesn't tell us if it will interfere with our electronic equipment.
Dear Editor, Everyone in town should be very proud of our Long Term Care Facility at Forks Community Hospital. For the third year in a row they have had deficiency-free survey inspections from the Department of Social and Health Services.
Editor's note: This letter was sent to the Forks Chamber of Commerce. To whom it may concern: I went on the lumber mill tour through the Forks Chamber of Commerce on July 31. I am new to Washington and want to explore the state by topic and chose logging.
In case no one has noticed, the Rayonier Tumbling Rapids Recreation Area has been logged off. This came as a real shock to those of us who have used it for decades. As the sadness sets in over this, it occurs to us that local loggers, sportsmen and tree huggers alike probably will feel the same about this.
