CERT Training in Forks

Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) in Forks has seats available for folks seeking out emergency response and recovery trainings. The CERT training is free and being held at the Concerned Citizens Community room, Family First Center, across from Forks Outfitters.

The session to join is this Thursday, Oct. 18, which runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This FEMA program is a positive and realistic curriculum that provides West Olympic Peninsula citizens with the opportunity to learn how to safely approach emergency and disaster situations where those citizens will be initially on their own and their actions will make a difference.

Over the next eight weeks of the CERT course, the trainers will be providing interactive opportunities to learn about providing basic medical assistance, how to extinguish small fires, and how to perform search and rescue techniques safely.

Completing this course will also give folks the opportunity to participate in supplemental trainings and non-emergency projects around your community.

Trainees from the West Olympic Peninsula will graduate knowing they have moved from awareness to real actions in emergency preparedness and response skills.
