Clallam County Fire Protection District #1 September Fire Calls

09/04-1750 CALAWAH WAY-at 0049 hours, Engine 91 was dispatched to a burn violation at 1750 Calawah Way space number 94. When 901 arrived there was a small fire in a burn pit. Because of the current dry conditions, there was a full burn ban in the City Limits. The resident was not aware of the current burn ban and extinguished the fire. 1 – Forks Station

09/04-1750 CALAWAH WAY-LARGE 4 X 4 BONFIRE IS UNATTENDED AT SPACE #XX FIRE IS OUT. 1 – Forks Station

09/08-BOGACHIEL WAY- Engine 91 was dispatched to the area of the 500 block of Bogachiel Way for a burning complaint. When 901 arrived at 691 Bogachiel Way there was smoke coming from the inside of a large shop that was located on the North side of the property. Inside the shop, there was a large handmade woodstove that was open and burning debris was falling out of it and was on the cement floor. Due to the smell and color of the smoke, there were other items in the wood stove that were not legal to burn. Forks Police was also on scene and contacted the resident. The resident was directed to put the fire out and this incident was turned over to Forks Police Department. Once the fire was extinguished all fire units cleared and were available. 1 – Forks Station

09/09-287 FOUNDERS WAY-Engine 91 was dispatched to 287 Founders Way for a smoke investigation. When 901 arrived he spoke with the reporting party and she stated there was smoke coming from a wooded area. After investigation, it was determined that the possible smoke was fog in the area. All units cleared and were available. 1 – Forks Station

09/10-301 S ELDERBERRY AVE-Engine 91 was dispatched to 301 S Elderberry Ave for an alarm activation. When E91 arrived Law Enforcement was on scene and they gained access into the building. Further investigation showed that there was a smoke detector on the southwest side of the building that was activated. There was no smoke or fire in the building. The system was reset and all units cleared. 1 – Forks Station

09/18-1000 LA PUSH RD-At approximately 0330 hours, Engine 92 was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located in the 1000 block of La Push road. When 901 arrived there was a red car in the ditch. There was one uninjured occupant. Fire personnel assisted with traffic control until Law Enforcement arrived. Once law enforcement arrived and our assistance was no longer needed all fire units cleared and were available. 1 – Forks Station

09/19-450 Bogachiel WAY-At approximately 0830 hours, the resident living at 450 Bogachiel Way called the fire station and needed assistance installing batteries in two smoke detectors. 901 arrived and installed two batteries in existing detectors.1 – Forks Station

09/19-Someone stopped at the Forks Fire Station to report a violation of the burn ban. The person stated there was a fire burning in a burn pit. They were advised there was still a current burn ban. 1 – Forks Station

08/02-1455 S. Forks Ave.-Engine 91 was dispatched to an area behind Rainforest Mobile Home Park. A 200-foot by 200 foot fire was burning in brush, trees and old growth stumps. DNR was notified. Members from District 1 and district 6 pulled 1,200 feet of hose and dug fire line. The fire was extinguished using water and Class A foam.

08/12-490 N. Forks Ave.-Engine 91 was dispatched for a vehicle accident.

08/14-100 Fernhill Rd.- Dispatched for a burn complaint, it was a BBQ.

08/15-Terra Eden St.- False alarm

08/22- 189179 Hwy 101- Engine 91 dispatched to a brush fire 50-foot by 50-foot it was quickly extinguished.

08/27- Hwy 101 MP 184-Engine 92 was dispatched for a vehicle rollover.

08/28- 1330 Whitcomb-Diimmel RD-Engine 91 dispatched for downed power lines which started a small brush fire.

08/29- 51 Fir Ave.- Engine 91 dispatched to a smell of fuel, source was not located.
