CPR Classes Offered

Forks Ambulance is holding American Heart Association Adult, Pediatric and Infant CPR classes on the last Friday of every month from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Contact Tim Wade at 360-374-6271 ext 125 for scheduling. Class size is limited to nine students so register early. If you need a larger class, call and arrangements will be made.

Forks Assembly

of God VBS

Forks Assembly of God, 81 Huckleberry Lane, will hold its annual Vacation Bible School Sunday, July 15, through Thursday, July 19, from 6-8:30 p.m. each day. Fun activities are planned for children ages 4-11 years old.

QVSD Summer Food

Program

The Quillayute Valley School District is offering a free summer food program open to all youth ages 2-18 on the following days: June 21, 22, 25, 26, 27 and 28, July 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 and 19, no meal services on July 4, 5 and 6.

Meals will be served at the Forks intermediate cafeteria; breakfast 8:30-9:15 a.m., lunch noon -1 p.m.

Concerned Citizens

Summer Food Service Program

Concerned Citizens will offer a Summer Food Service Program from July 16 – Aug. 31, providing a free, nutritious lunch to all children 18 and under. Lunch will be served Monday-Friday at the following locations:

• Alder Grove Mobile Home Park 11:30 a.m. – noon

• Concerned Citizens Family First Center 11 a.m – noon

Summer food service program sponsored by concerned citizens in partnership with USDA. USDA is an equal opportunity employer and sponsor.

Thu’s Salon to Celebrate 10-year Anniversary

Thu’s Salon, in Clallam Bay, will celebrate 10 years in business with a customer appreciation/anniversary party on Saturday, July 7 at 3 p.m. at the Salon in Clallam Bay. All are welcome.

HOH TRIBE/ WARM

CURRENT SURF CAMP

Join Us at the Hoh Rivermouth on the Hoh Tribe Reservation for our Third Annual Surf Camp in Partnership with the Hoh Tribe. We will be camping near the river mouth on Friday Night July 13 and on Saturday Night July 14. Volunteers should be on the Beach by 9 a.m., July 14, for orientation, and it is recommended that volunteers for this camp arrive the night before.

Foster Parent Training

Caregiver Core Training will be offered in eight sessions at the Conference Room, DCFS Office, 915 Sheridan St., Port Townsend on July 7-8 and July 14-15, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day.

Sessions are designed to help understand how the system works.Registration is required and orientation is a prerequisite. Prospective Foster Parents must complete orientation training prior to attending Caregiver Core Training. The licensor will discuss the minimum licensing requirements and help you with required paperwork. Licensing application packets will be provided. Red, White and Blue Bingo

On Monday, July 2, the Veterans of Foreign Wars is offering a special Red, White and Blue Bingo session with a charity game beginning at 6:55 p.m. with the regular session following at 7 p.m. Join in our patriotic celebration of food, fun and prizes! The VFW Post is located at 110 Spartan Ave.

VFW Readers Theater

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) celebrate the fourth of July with a special presentation of a readers theater beginning at 6 p.m., July 4, at the VFW Post, 110 Spartan Ave. This one-hour informative program is suitable for most ages. Two readings will be presented, including, “The Declaration of Independence” and “Mister President.”

4th of July Art, Craft and Photo Show

The 4th of July Art, Craft, and Photo Show is seeking entries, July 3, between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Rainforest Art Center. Entry forms may be picked up at Home Slice Take and Bake Pizza, Forks Library, and Sunsets West Co-op in Clallam Bay.

The artist may enter four art and/or four photos, the fee is $15. There is a separate junior division for those under 18 years old, no fee for junior division. The photo show has two categories; photos not enhanced except for cropping and those that have been enhanced. All art and photos must be framed and ready for hanging with screw eyes and wires. Craft; you may enter as many different items but only two of the same type i.e. embroidered pillow cases or lace tablecloth. Please pick up an entry form for more information. Pick up is between 4-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 8.
