Cross Country Trip

By Elizabeth

Hi Forks, this is Elizabeth! It was great to see so many of you when I has home in June. I want to let you know some of what I did on my road trip on my way to our new home in Moldova.

So let’s get started! The family rule was no we could not have any screens on the trip and that was pretty much it. We flew to Las Vegas to start our trip. The first thing we did, well, I did, was put on these long long Las Vegas nails. And then I wore them for a longer period of time and they got uncomfortable. So off they went! So anyway, we also went to a comedy magic show with a guinea pig, weird, right?

The next morning we got this camper van with a weird dragon eel like thing on the side and we went to Boulder Dam and the Grand Canyon. The next day we went to Monument Valley, which was my favorite part of the trip. We got to ride horses! And my horse’s name was Eva. She was really pretty. She was a vanilla color horse. And we asked for a 30 minute ride, but we rode longer and then we went back.

The next day we saw the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert, where I was sworn in as a Junior Park Ranger. That night we stayed at the “El Rancho” hotel in New Mexico where we slept in the Ronald Reagan suite. We stopped in Santa Fe next where we went to the Pecos National park, it was great and we went in a pueblo! After that we drove and drove for days. We stopped in a place called Branson for a Dolly Parton stampede dinner and then saw the St. Louis arch and stayed two nights at Jellystone! I loved Jellystone, and I went there for the first time and it was an amazing experience. I met Yogi and Cindy Bear, but not Boo boo.

Then we went to my grandparent’s homes in Western Pennsylvania for a few days and then New York! I saw the Statue of Liberty, my mom cried, I don’t know why. We had a crazy milkshake and a really good burger but it was so expensive! Then my mom and dad had to go to take some training so I had to go back and spent a week with my grandma without my parents. Then I had to fly in an airplane by myself for the first time!

Well that’s it! Thank you guys for reading!!
