Quileute Tribal School Students of the Month — November

Middle School Student of the Month

Lloyd Smith, a seventh-grader at Quileute Tribal School, was chosen this month because he takes responsibility for his own actions and his education. Lloyd works hard to improve his own work and rises to the challenges presented to him. Currently, Lloyd’s favorite class is Middle School science with Mrs. Ryan and he is a talented artist especially when it comes to drawing, and enjoys being outside. Lloyd’s wants to thank his grandfather Lloyd Smith Sr., grandmother Janice Smith, and mother Lucy Smith for supporting him and encouraging him to keep working hard.

High School Student of the Month

Shadow Rosander, a senior at Quileute Tribal School, has been chosen to be recognized this month because he is actively taking responsibility for himself and his education. His favorite class is English with Mr. Rahal. Shadow has been working hard to succeed and graduate this year so that he will be able to become a teacher himself. Currently thinking of teaching history, he would like to come back and teach here at QTS. Shadow says, ”I love the idea of teaching a subject I have such a strong passion for and to be able to teach that to others would be an unbelievable experience to witness.” He would like to express his overwhelming thanks to Natasha Riggins. “She is like a mom, always there for me!”
