Emily Adams, daughter of Tim and Jen Adams, was chosen by her teachers to be one of the seventh-grade students of month. Emily is in Mrs. Decker’s block class. She is careful in her work, she tries to do her best and she advocates for herself by asking questions when she is confused or doesn’t understand. Emily is kind to all students and often will include a student if he/she is left out or is an odd number when talking with partners. She has a positive attitude about school and life in general. Softball is one of Emily’s favorite pastimes, along with spending time with her horses and her friends. At school, Emily enjoys math and hanging out with her friends.

Madelyn Salazar is the daughter of Jae Harris. She is in Ms. Bryan’s seventh-grade block class and was chosen to be a student of the month because of her work ethic. She works very hard in PE and always has a smile on her face! Madelyn is friendly and respectful to both her peers and her teachers. Madelyn’s favorite parts of the school day are when she gets to go to PE and break time! Outside of school she likes to relax, go to softball practice and sleep.

Seth Davis is the son of Rusty and Anita Davis and was chosen as an eighth-grade student of the month. He is in Mr. Burton’s block class. Seth is an upbeat kid with a great smile. He works hard to make sure that he understands and is not afraid to advocate for himself or others. He is diligent and perseveres in order to be successful. Seth enjoys science class and PE. Seth is a person who likes to stay busy. He can be found working on derby cars, fishing or riding dirt-bikes on the weekends.

Sydney Henderson, daughter of Bill and Jennifer Henderson, is in Mr. Burton’s eighth-grade block class and was chosen by her teachers to be a student of the month. Sydney is a hard worker! She makes a conscious effort to do her best in all of her classes. Sydney is a critical thinker and an avid reader who loves to challenge herself. She enjoys school, but she especially likes block, PE and math. She loves to play fastpitch. When she’s not practicing or playing fastpitch, she likes to hang out with her friends and play Xbox.
The Student of the Month project is sponsored by Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest for students who consistently display respect and responsibility for their behavior and academic achievement. Be respectful, be polite, follow school and class rules, help prevent bullying, be on the honor roll, be at school every day and on time, pay attention in class, go the extra mile, do school work and turn it in on time.
