Chip-seal work to resume on U.S. Highway 101 and State Highway 19

Road work was to resume across the North Olympic Peninsula Monday.

Contractor crews will begin chip sealing sections of U.S. Highway 101 and State Highway 19 as part of a multi-county project that began this spring.

Motorists can expect alternating single-lane traffic controlled by flaggers or pilot cars on Highway 101 between milepost 231 and milepost 235 near Lake Sutherland and between milepost 282.5 and milepost 296.7 between Discovery Bay and Quilcene. Work on Highway 19 will be between milepost 0.1 and milepost 9.5 near Chimacum.

Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair asphalt on Highway 101 between Port Angeles and Sequim from Monday through Thursday.

Crews will be working on the eastbound lanes near Race Street, between Sutter Road and Old Olympic Highway and near Hooker Road.

Drivers can expect single-lane closures in the work zones.

Work is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
