INTERFOR CORPORATION announced today plans to curtail operations at its Beaver,

Washington sawmill.

The curtailment will take place end of day June 27 and remain in effect indefinitely.

Interfor’s planer in Forks, WA will run for an additional 7-10 business days to process

remaining inventories after which it will be curtailed as well.

“Our Olympic Peninsula operations have been caught between difficult market conditions

and a challenging fiber supply that is further aggravated by the impacts from log exports,”

Steve Kroll, Interfor’s General Manager, Washington Operations said today. “The mill at

Beaver has been particularly hard hit and has been running on a 40-hour per week schedule

which is difficult to maintain.”

The Company will monitor market conditions on an ongoing basis to determine when it is

feasible to restart the Beaver/Forks operation while also exploring alternative operating

scenarios and configurations for its two Peninsula sawmills at Beaver and Port Angeles.
