The North Olympic Library System will host free screenings of the 2016 PBS documentary “The Boys of ’36” this October at library locations throughout Clallam County. Each screening will be followed by a discussion of “The Boys in the Boat” — the book that inspired the film as well as the official selection of this year’s Clallam County Reads program. All screenings and discussions are free and open to public.
Screenings will take place at 6 p.m., with book discussions beginning at 7 p.m., on the following dates:
Monday, Oct. 17, Forks Library
Wednesday, Oct. 19, Clallam Bay Library
There also will be a special screening and discussion — with complimentary refreshments courtesy of the Quileute Nation — at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Quileute Senior Center, 61 Ocean Drive in La Push.
