According to Friends of Forks Animals, five dogs have been dumped in our area in the last 6 months. Those are the lucky ones that were found.

Mel Marshal and Barb Brabant are with WAG, Welfare for Animals Guild in Sequim. Beyer is with FOFA. FOFA works with WAG when there are abandoned pets that are being held at the city of Forks Shelter at the Airport. Because many of the abandoned dogs and cats need to be spayed or neutered and/or often require medical attention the Forks Shelter does not offer adoptions. FOFA takes care of the medical needs and then the animals move on to WAG. These two dogs will be going to the Clallam Bay Corrections Center where they will go through the inmate led obedience program before they are offered for adoption.

FOFA wants to remind pet owners to NOT dump your pet! If you are having trouble call the FOFA helpline at 360-374-3332 and leave a message. They can offer options and a much more humane way of dealing with an unwanted pet, rather than resorting to dumping.
