Fabric of the Forest Quilt Show is Back

After a Covid break, Fabric of the Forest Quilt Show, presented by the Piecemakers Quilt Club, is back and will be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 21, 22, and 23, at the Forks High School Auxiliary Gym, 261 Spartan Avenue, Forks, WA. Hours are: Friday, Noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Noon to 4 p.m. There is no admission fee but donations are appreciated.

The 20th-anniversary show will display more than 100 colorful and unique quilts. All West End quilters are invited to display their quilts. All quilts must be finished and registered for the show on Thursday, April 20 between 3 and 6 p.m. and picked up on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The show will also feature vendors selling a variety of fabric items and kits, machine cleaning and sales—and more. Demos will be done throughout the three days and will include T-shirt quilts and wool appliqué. Club items will be on sale along with a “Tag Sale” which includes some quilts and miscellaneous sewing and quilting items.

Tickets for the 2023 raffle quilt will be available. This beautiful quilt is a 92” x 92” Flower Basket Kit designed by Kate Colleran, pieced by Vicky Druge, and quilted by Gail Frick. Tickets are $1 each and the drawing is on Sunday, April 23 at 3 p.m. You do not need to be present to win.

Featured quilter, Sue Bouchard, will present three classes and a lecture. On Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sue will be teaching Moondance 27×38” a wall hanging. This class is $95 and includes a kit and templates. It combines triangles and squares to give the illusion of curves. On Friday evening, Sue will present “Modern Traditionalism” lecture and Mini Quilt Show. On Saturday, two classes are available: Split Nine Patch in the morning and A Better Star for all Seasons each class is three hours and costs $50. Sue Bouchard has been quilting since she was 12 and spent 25 years at Quilt in a Day. All classes and lectures will be held at the First Congregational Church.
