Happy 91st Birthday …to the Hoh Bridge

This week in August 1931 the community was celebrating the opening of the Olympic Loop Highway to the south and the new Hoh River Bridge. It looks fairly spacious in this photo as the first car makes its way across …but meeting a truck on this bridge these days can be exciting! The bridge was built by the Union Bridge and Dredge company of Portland Oregon for the cost of $90,000 and took about a year to construct.
