Happy Anniversary Dr. Pat

Dr. Pat Dowell Celebrates 10 Years of Dedication

to Animal Care in Forks

Veterinarian Dr. Pat Dowell commemorated a decade of service to the Forks community this week, reflecting on her journey and the impact she has made on the region’s furry residents.

Dr. Dowell’s journey to Forks began with a simple request from two local women a decade ago. Pam Winney recalls the effort it took to find a veterinarian willing to serve the remote community. “We went to all the vets in Port Angeles, hoping to find someone to come to Forks,” Winney reminisced.

Ten years on, the community is celebrating the relationship forged between Dr. Dowell and Friends of Forks Animals (FOFA), an organization dedicated to animal welfare. “We are proud of the relationship we at Friends of Forks Animals have had with Dr. Pat over the past 10 years,” Winney expressed, highlighting the collaborative efforts that have led to countless spaying and neutering procedures, preventing the birth of hundreds, if not thousands, of unwanted pets.

FOFA played a crucial role in facilitating Dr. Dowell’s presence in Forks by assisting in finding a suitable location for her practice in the Almar building. Despite the distance, Dr. Dowell’s commitment to the community remains unwavering, making the journey from Port Angeles to Forks twice a week.

Dr. Dowell’s dedication has not only improved the health and well-being of countless animals but has also strengthened the bond between the community and its furry companions. As she celebrates this milestone, Dr. Dowell looks forward to continuing her mission of providing compassionate care to the animals of the West End.

The Forks community thanks Dr. Pat for her dedication and invaluable contributions to animal welfare.
