The Huelsdonks share a moment at their homestead on the Hoh in the 1930s. Mrs. Huelsdonk is wearing a staple of the old days an “apron.” This humble piece of attire was once a staple, as doing laundry was not as it is today, an apron kept good clothes clean as well as was used for many other purposes. The long-awaited return of the Rainforest Players will happen Friday evening at 7:30 p.m., at the RAC, as they will offer a play that salutes this once important bit of fabric in a performance called “A String of Stories about Aprons and Those Who Wore Them.” Before the play, at 6:30 p.m., Forestra will offer some old-timey music.
