Readers will have the chance to step back in time with author M.B. Thurman this fall. On Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at 6 p.m., Barnes & Noble Northgate, 401 NE Northgate Way #1100, Seattle, WA, will welcome Thurman for a discussion and signing of Forged, the third book in her fantasy series The Summoned Series. She’ll be joined in conversation by Jenna, the Bookstagram and TikTok personality known online as @live_1000_lives.
Admission to the discussion is free but requires a ticket, available in limited quantities through Eventbrite. Entry begins at 5 p.m., and seating is first-come, first-served. To join the signing line and have books personalized, attendees must purchase a copy of Forged from the Northgate Barnes & Noble.
Forged picks up after Hadley Weston and Fitz MacGregor are cast out of their mission to stop Lorenzo Belmonte, a powerful witch seeking a legendary ring infused with ancestral magic. Their journey takes them back to Forfar, Scotland, in 1662, at the height of the witch trials. There, they must navigate suspicious villagers, brutal witch hunts, and the looming execution of Fitz’s ancestor, Esther MacGregor. As time grows short, Hadley faces an impossible choice: allow history to unfold or risk changing fate itself.
For Thurman, fantasy writing was not her first career but a long-held dream. She left her work as an executive assistant to devote herself to writing and now splits her time between storytelling and running the Miller Tree Inn, a well-known Forks, WA, bed-and-breakfast.
Though her roots are in the South, Thurman has embraced the Pacific Northwest as home. Her novels reflect her love of magical landscapes, travel, and history, often weaving together myth, romance, and time travel. She also heads Firecracker Entertainment, a company dedicated to bringing her stories to life on screen, in audio, and beyond.
Thurman’s readers often say her books combine rich historical detail with heartfelt explorations of love, family, and destiny. With Forged, she expands the world of The Summoned Series into a story that spans centuries while staying grounded in themes of loyalty and sisterhood.
Thurman will sign books following the discussion and will pose for photos with fans. Copies of Forged and earlier titles in The Summoned Series will be available for purchase at the event.
