QVSA Online Auction takes in just over $113,000

With uncertain times the annual Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction had been in jeopardy of not happening this year. It was a sad fact it wasn’t going to happen in the same way it has for almost 60 years but thanks to David Hurn stepping up it happened in a new way and took in over $113,000 for scholarships for the FHS class of 2020.

After almost a week of bidding on Facebook where lots of items, about 140 in all, consisting of gift certificates, firewood, gravel, Olympic Corrections Center wood creations and artwork, and more were offered for bid the auction came to an end on Saturday evening.

Also contributing to the final total were cash donations from the Quileute, Tribe, the Lloyd Allen Charitable Trust Fund, Tom Rosmond to name a few and a pre-auction organized by the Olympic Peninsula Guides Association also added another almost $13,000 to the grand total.
