Soroptimist Community Award for Women

These four women were recently awarded the Soroptimist Community Award for Women at the Soroptimist awards night. Pictured from left to right, Shyliah Gorbett was recognized for her work with Friends of Forks Animals. Shyliah is the embodiment of selfless service, devoting countless hours to caring for the most vulnerable members of our community—animals without homes, without voices, and often, without hope.

Next is Carri Jordan who was recognized for her volunteer work at Forks Food Bank and Ginger’s Closet.

Cathy Salazar was awarded this award for many reasons. The member who nominated her stated that she always “exceeds expectations” in everything she does.Whether it be doing what is needed to do her job better by taking night classes, serving on the Quileute Tribal Council, her baking skills and recognition to qualify as a master artist.
