Edwin “Bernie” Jones

1949 – 2022

Bernie was born March 12, 1949, in Port Angeles, WA. to Francis and Helene Westfall Jones. As a boy and young adult, he spent many happy hours with his father, honing lifelong fishing skills. He worked as a teenager at the Port Angeles Salmon Club. Bernie remained an avid fisherman all his life.

As an adult he moved to Forks, where he met and married Virginia Buchanan. Bernie worked in shake mills in Forks most of his life. He enjoyed working on his property, playing cribbage, dancing, and visiting family. Bernie had a wickedly funny sense of humor and liked making people laugh.

Multiple health issues plagued Bernie for the last decade of his life. Bernie was preceded in death by his father, mother, younger sister Pamela Stamper, and his wife.

He is survived by his sister Ann Millican, nephews Todd Millican, Scott and Mike Stamper, and niece Kim Kriebel.

Bernie was laid to rest in Sequim View Cemetery on April 20, 2022.

He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him. He’s at peace, healthy and gone fishing.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Forks Friends of the Animals.
