I am not selling CBD Gummies … and other things

On Monday morning I received a call from a very concerned man named Ed. He is 87 years old and resides in Indianapolis, IN and he was upset that he had received a confirmation for an order for some Full-Spectrum CBD Gummies and the Forks Forum’s phone number was at the bottom of the message. He had not placed such an order.

He re-read the email for me just to be sure he had not misdialed and yes …by golly it was my phone number. But, sadly, I told him all I was selling was newspapers.

I thought maybe it might have something to do with some of the paid advertising items on the Forks Forums web page but still, if he hadn’t ordered …I told him that I get those fake order emails all the time and I usually just ignore them as some type of SPAM/SCAM…trying to get your personal info. He also shared when reading further that there was an address in Texas associated with the order.

I told him to check his bank or credit card statements and make sure he had not been charged for anything. He also told me he had worked for United Press International and still likes to write but he is now a full-time caregiver for his wife and that takes up most of his time. He was happy to hear our small town still had a newspaper.

So we are going to keep in touch … I did do a little Google search on CBD Gummies and perhaps I should be popping them here at the Forks Forum! They could help my mood, sleep, anxiety, pain, and mental focus …one gummy and I will be good to go! According to the website I consulted …so in the next week or so if I seem more rested, less anxious, and more mentally focused you will know why. But, probably not.

I would like to wish Phil and Linda Aribeiter a happy retirement as they move on to Port Angeles. They were honored in 2017 on the Forks Old Fashioned 4th of July float for Phil’s military service and his service to our community through the Fire Department as well as his time as Mayor of Forks.

Phil spent 44 years with the Forks Fire Department and stepped down from the Chief position in January 2013. Phil was also active with West End Thunder activities and also served as president of that organization. Phil is also a former Commander of the Forks American Legion Post.

And as businesses struggle these days to find dedicated employees Linda has spent 44 years working at Forks Outfitters!

Farewell to Phil and Linda …thanks for all that you have done for our community!
