Thankful for rural healthcare

Dear Editor,

As we look forward to Thanksgiving with family, I am giving thanks for the wonderful health care I am receiving in the West End. Trying to solve a recent urgent health problem, my care was so ably addressed by Dr. Shima, Dr. Dickson and all of the medical staff I worked with at the Forks Hospital.

I feel lucky to have good care with Donna West in Clallam Bay, awesome problem-solving with my primary physician at the office of Margaret and John Shima, and a local pharmacy (Chinook) that dispenses good advice and solutions along with medications. We are connected to a wider network of medical specialists who come to Forks, as well as those in nearby P.A. and Sequim. In this remote, rural area, my husband, Roy and I are grateful for the great health care that is both personal and competent.
