Clallam County Park Board members toured several West End parks last Thursday, including a stop at Lake Pleasant. During their visit, they inspected new floats, playground equipment, and observed a major ongoing concern for both lake residents and local agencies, including County Parks and State Fisheries.
The issue centers around cement and Styrofoam dock floats, which are frequently dislodged and contribute to flooding and shoreline erosion. Currently, five abandoned docks are tied near the beach, with two to three more lodged in Lake Creek, causing water flow problems and raising environmental concerns.
