Forks Hall-of-Famer Kasey Ulin to lead Spartans boys basketball

The Forks High School cheer squad returned from July’s UCA Cheer Camp with plenty to celebrate. Under the direction of coaches Sapphire Price Leons and Gabrella Damron, the Spartans earned first place in the Camp Routine competition, second place in the Spirit Game Day Routine, another coveted Spirit Stick, and five All-American honors. I’m so proud of every one of these ladies for representing Forks High with Spartan pride all week long, Price Leons said. I’m excited to see what they accomplish this coming football season.

Wayne Daman Sr. teamed up with Ken Olson Sr. to compete in the annual Quileute Days Horseshoes Tournament. Daman and Olson both wore sportsmanship shirts but I believe it was self proclaimed. How could you be awarded such monumental clothing before the contest had even begun.

They were off and running Sunday morning at the Fun Run/Walk on the Rayonier Road near where the old Smokehouse Restaurant once stood. Approximately 50 joined in on the event. Organizer Erika Charpilloz reported the registration fees of about $1,000 were donated to Kassidy Contreras, who has cancer.
