The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) announces the release of two limited-edition library cards designed by local artists Sarah Necco and Lance Snider. Necco’s design captures the peninsula’s natural beauty using watercolor and ink, while Snider’s digital illustration features a read-a-thon in a castle’s library. The new designs are available now at NOLS branches and the Bookmobile. Signing up for a library card is free.
NOLS is seeking three additional designs and invites library patrons of all ages to enter the Library Card Art Contest by May 30. Pick up a coloring sheet at any NOLS location or submit a design online at NOLS.org/contest. One entry is allowed per person.
The contest includes three age categories: kids ages 11 and younger, tweens/teens ages 12-17, and adults. One winning design will be selected from each age category by a panel of judges. Each winner will receive a $100 gift card to a local restaurant or bookstore, courtesy of the North Olympic Library Foundation. The winning designs will be available as library cards in September to kick off Library Card Sign-up Month.
