The Forks Elks recently donated $1,500 to the Forks Food Bank from a grant they received. In addition, they recently presented a $600 donation on behalf of Monica Henry, who contributed her compensation from performing at the Elks’ 50th Anniversary party.

The Food Bank, 181 Bogachiel Way, will hold an Open House on April 3, from noon-6 p.m., Forks Chamber will offer an official Ribbon Cutting at 2 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments, explore the space, and see firsthand how the Food Bank supports the community.

Besides the scholarship auction being an event supporting our Forks High School seniors who are planning to go on to further education, it can also become a place for socializing. Although most of the action will take place upfront with the auctioneer we must not underestimate the potential of the stories which will be shared around tables and seating chairs where the young and adults alike will tell their tales.
Of course one has the right to join in on the story telling, listen while he or she carefully sorts through the tales being spread, judge those storytellers around them or even move away when things become a little deep. For these youngsters, Lane Rigby, Charlie Echeita, and Alex Echeita However, it was a time of friendship as they played their latest games here at the Forks High School commons.
