Seventeen veterans from all over the state came to participate in a fishing derby; 10 were returnees, six were on their second trip, three were on their third time and one was here for a fourth time.

The Calm Waters volunteers enjoyed reuniting with the returning veterans and making friends with the newcomers. CW member Ted Bates said,”It’s great to see the growing camaraderie and friendships that has developed between our returning vets and our staff. We have seen some positive changes in our returnees since their first visit with us.”

Fish results — Top Kings: Rob Norris 24 pounds (he had the top catch last year, too), Tim Beam 18 pounds (He placed second last year as well), Gabriel Wander 16 pounds, Danny Greaver 14 pounds, Lorenzo Campbell 13 pounds. Bass: Eric Scott and Melvin Marshall.

All this could not be possible without the support of all the local communities.

Calm Waters would like to thank the people and businesses from all over the Olympic Peninsula, thank you for making this possible.

Everyone is looking forward to doing it again next year!
