Hoh Road Construction Update

Last week was a big week on the project! Interwest Construction Inc. (ICI) completed the backfill to the MP 10 Canyon Creek bridge approaches, placed roadway aggregate, and then paved the asphalt bridge deck.

Traffic will now flow over the bridge so ICI can perform the stream channel reconstruction work beginning this week. Last week was also the end of the in-water work window in the Hoh River, and ICI completed all of the Engineered Log Jams (ELJs) they had scheduled for this year at MP 4.5.

They will return to this location next year to continue the ELJs down river.

Impacts to Traffic

• No work was performed on Labor Day, Monday, Sept 6th.

• The following work zones can be expected on Upper Hoh Road:

• Travelers should expect delays at each of these locations, up to a total of 30 minutes per passage through the project corridor Mon. through Fri., 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
