Motorcycle rider airlifted Saturday from accident south of Forks

The Washington State Patrol is reporting that a motorcycle rider was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center from the scene of an accident that occurred Saturday afternoon, July 29, at around 2:30 p.m. near MP 182 Hwy 101 S.

The memo states that 54-year-old Anthony W Davis of Seattle, WA was northbound near MP 182 riding a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle, when negotiating a curve, crossed the center line into oncoming traffic; a motorhome with utility trailer was traveling southbound at MP 182 driven by Dane M Lebeau, age 32, of Minturn, CO. The memo says that Lebeau swerved to the right to avoid the motorcycle, Davis struck the right tire of the motorhome. Davis’ motorcycle came to rest blocking the northbound lane; Davis was ejected and came to rest in the northbound lane. The Lebeau vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane.

Davis was airlifted from the scene, Lebeau and a passenger, Nicole M Tokarski age 31, were not injured and both wearing seatbelts. The Memo also states that Davis was wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle was totaled and impounded to Evergreen PTA, the motorhome was also totaled and impounded to Peninsula Towing, the trailer had non-reportable damage and was impounded to Evergreen PTA.

The memo reports that the cause of the accident was speeds too fast for conditions; charges; Reckless Driving.
