The city council Monday night proclaimed the day “Forks 10U Girls Fastpitch Team Recognition Day.”

Next week’s celebration begins at 6 p.m., when the team will ride on a fire truck through the city to Tillicum Park, where there will be a picnic for the team and parents.

All citizens and guests are encouraged to line Forks Avenue to congratulate the team on its 12-game winning streak that resulted in championship titles at both the State Tournament and the Regional 10U Girls Fastpitch Tournament.

The team drove over 1,500 miles, stayed innumerable nights in hotels, endured high desert temperatures, but through it all enjoyed themselves, had fun and exhibited tremendous sportsmanship, the proclamation noted.

The lucky 13 members of the team were Emily Adams, Alaina Baker, Kierra Brandt, Madison Davis, Sydney Henderson, Kray Horton, Brenna King, Natalie Lausche, Chloe Leverington, Jayden Olson, Rian Peters, Aspen Rondeau and Nicole Winger.
