No quarter: Police search for suspected car wash thieves

Police are trying to track down a pair of suspects in a robbery of the Olympic Car Wash in which more than $100 in quarters is believed to have been taken.

Coin-operated car wash controls were damaged at the car wash, 810 Hwy. 101, on the night of June 24.

Police Administrator Rick Bart said surveillance video recorded an older-model blue Ford pickup truck at the scene about the time of the robbery.

The same truck was recorded by the surveillance cameras at the Evergreen 76 gas station at 490 N. Forks Ave. Neither camera captured the truck’s license plate, Bart said.

“We believe they’re local. We’ve got lots of law enforcement looking out for them,” he said.

The total amount estimated stolen and damaged ranged from $150-$200, according to Officer Mark Raben.
