The couple suspected of breaking into and robbing Pacific Pizza of $7,000 worth of cash and checks entered separate pleas of not guilty last Friday.

Tyeson F. LaGambina, 24, and Sarah E. Burnside, 18, individually face charges of first-degree theft, second-degree burglary and theft of a motor vehicle in Clallam County Superior Court.

Prosecutors claim the pair broke into the rear of the pizza place using a rock to smash a window June 10 and stole a safe which contained cash, checks and credit card receipts.

Forks police found Pacific Pizza’s 2004 Chevrolet Malibu delivery vehicle wrecked at the bottom of a 50-foot bluff off the A Road.

Investigators believe the pair stole the car to make off with the safe.

In an interview with officers, Burnside said they burned the checks from the safe.

LaGambina remains in jail under $25,000 bail. His next court appearance is set for Aug. 2.

Burnside is set for a status hearing Sept. 5.
