Notice of Special Election and Public Meetings

On Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, a Special Election will be conducted entirely by mail for two school districts and one hospital district in Clallam County. Ballots for this election will be mailed to all qualified voters on Jan. 20. The purpose of this election is to approve and adopt or to reject local propositions.

Below are the local propositions, which will appear on the ballot:

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINES: Pursuant to RCW 29A.08.140, the registration deadlines for all precincts within the districts voting in the Special Election will be as follows:

Online or by mail: Last day to register or update registration is Feb. 1, 2021 (Registrations must be received by the Auditor’s Office by this date). Printable voter registration forms can be found online at www.clallam.net/elections. You can also register using the online portal at www.votewa.gov.

In-person: Last day to register or update registration at the Clallam County Auditor’s Office is Feb. 9, 2021. You may register to vote or update your registration at the Auditor’s Office, 223 E. 4th St, Suite 1 in Port Angeles between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Election Day, Feb. 9, we are open until 8 p.m.

A registered voter who fails to transfer his or her residential address by this deadline may vote according to his/her previous registration address.

VOTING AID: To assist elderly and disabled persons in voting their ballot, an Accessible Voting Unit is available in the Auditor’s Office beginning Jan. 20, through 8 p.m. on Election Day.

OPEN PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE: The Canvassing Board of Clallam County, pursuant to chapter 29A.60 RCW, will hold public meetings on the following dates and times:

Canvassing Board/Precertification of Election: Feb. 18, 2021, 1 p.m.

Canvassing Board/Certification of Election: Feb. 19, 2021, 2 p.m.
