Peninsula College to offer GED testing in Forks

Peninsula College is scheduled to offer the General Educational Development (GED) Test at its Forks Extension branch on Thursday, Nov. 29. The branchis located at 71 South Forks Avenue.

 

 Successful completion of the GED Test provides individuals with the opportunity to advance to their next goal―college, technical training, the military or a better job.

 

 Individuals who have not completed a practice GED test or enrolled in a GED preparation course are strongly encouraged to complete a practice test prior to scheduling an appointment.

 

 Practice testing, offered at no charge, may be scheduled through Jennifer Roberts in the Forks office of Peninsula College by calling  374-9281.

 

 Practice testing may also be scheduled through Stacy Fournier in LaPush at (206) 714-0316 or Sandi Ward in Neah Bay at (360) 645-3071.

 

 The testing fee is $150 for the complete battery, or $30 per test. Payment and state or federally issued photo identification is required at the time of testing. Washington State’s minimum age for testing is 19.

 GED testing is offered, by appointment, on most Tuesdays on the Port Angeles campus.

 

A computer-based GED testing will be introduced in January 2014. Those currently testing are encouraged to complete their testing by December 2013.
