Dear Editor,

There are no unsolvable government problems.

I will not let 147 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom you hire and whose jobs you can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice you can reject; to regulators, to whom you give the power to regulate and from whom you can take this power.

Above all, do not con me into the belief that there exists incorporeal extraordinary forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent you from doing what you have taken an oath to do. The power to feed the hungry, to house the homeless, to teach the children. You are these 147 people, and you alone, are responsible. You and you alone have the power.

I volunteer for the homeless the hungry and teach avocation to the people. And I pay taxes to pay YOU from the labors I do. Now it is your turn to earn the vote I gave you.

So what are you going to do, today? Step up and do the job.
