Forks Spartans 12U and 10U fastpitch teams finish with strong showing at Slamfest in Federal Way

On June 22-23 Forks Spartans Girls 12U and 10U fastpitch teams played in the annual Slamfest tournament in Federal Way. Both teams had strong finishes to complete the travel ball season.

The 10U girls went 2-3 on the weekend. On single elimination Sunday the girls pulled off a big win in the semifinal against their season long rival TABU making the championship game and ending up in second place taking home a tournament plaque.

The 12U Spartans finished 2-2 on the weekend. The girls started Saturday pool play strong winning their first two games finishing second place in their pool placing them in the Gold single elimination semi-final bracket for Sunday. The Spartans lost that semi-final to the tournament champions and finished in third place by criteria.

Both team had good seasons showing big improvement against quality competition around the state in the five tournaments they attended. Traveling off the peninsula playing in challenging tournaments is crucial to the future success of these girls moving forward into high school.
