Once again the Community Members of Forks have pulled together for a young family struggling with the recent diagnosis of Leukemia. Logan and Landen Olson asked Low Life Links if they could do a fundraising charity golf tournament for their young cousin Ellie who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Low Life Links members and Ellie’s large extended family came together in a shocking one day tournament that raised $7,900! Let me repeat that $7,900. The golfers alone made over $6,000 dollars with their entry fees and $5 Mulligans shots to replay an errant shot.
There were countless monetary donations from local businesses, individuals and Sol Duc Driving Range that added to the total. The girls at the Lemonade Stand made delicious lemonade to keep people hydrated throughout the hot day. Ellie’s Grandma Leona and Aunt Jessie kept the grills going so the golfers didn’t go hungry. The winner of the Tourney? Well I’ll give you one guess……….yes he did it again, Kaleb Blanton won his 3rd straight tourney at LLL!! We are gonna petition the US Coast Guard and see if he can get him re-assigned to Alaska!
On a serious note Kaleb might have won the Tourney but Ellie and her family have won the cheering section as we will be rooting for her as she battles Leukemia and her recovery in her battle. I personally want to thank everybody that participated and helped out with today’s tourney and special thanks to Bruce Paul. Get well soon Ellie.
