Speech and Debate – Falcon Tournament Results

On Saturday, January 24, six of our speech and debaters competed at the Falcon Tournament in Vancouver, Washington at Prairie High School. This tournament hosted 12 schools and 134 competitors. This tournament was tough for our team, but they powered through, placing as follows:

Trentston Pope placed 1st in Spoken Word Poetry

Jlynn Vessy placed 2nd in Spoken Word Poetry

Zoey Beutler placed 3rd in Spoken Word Poetry

Patricia Calderon-Weed placed 3rd in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and 3rd in Informative

Dema Martin Mendoza placed 3rd in Novice Spoken Word Poetry

Other Mentions: Alvaro Martin-Mendoza competed in Spoken Word Poetry, Trentston Pope competed in Impromptu, Patricia Calderon-Weed competed in Spoken Word Poetry, and Jlynn Vessey competed in Informative.

Our team walked away with heads held high! The next tournament will be the state qualifier.
