The first game was a back and forth affair from the get go and was not decided until the final out.   Rainier got four runs in the first on four errors, three walks. The Spartans got one run when Cameron Leons scored on a Braden Decker’s fly ball to right that was dropped.

The Spartans tied the score in the second on singles by Nick Gilmore, Mark Jacobson, a walk to Tre Harris and single by Mitchell Leppell, capped with a Michael Dean double.

Rainier used three errors and three hits and a walk to score  seven runs in the fifth. The Spartans battled back but came a up a run short. Best chance to tie was in the sixth. Javier Contreras walked and stole  second but could only get to third.
