Continued construction of the Engineered Log Jams. ICI is scheduled to complete 10 of the total 29 ELJs this year.

Last week, Interwest Construction Inc. (ICI) continued backfilling the embankment to the final grade of the road on either side of the Canyon Creek bridge and built forms and rebar for the approach slabs. ICI also continued constructing the Engineered Log Jams (ELJs) at MP 4.5. This week, ICI will continue constructing ELJs, building the roadway embankment at Canyon Creek, and placing the final concrete for the Canyon Creek bridge approaches.

Impacts to Traffic:

• There following work zones can be expected between MP 3 and MP 11 on Upper Hoh Road:

MP 4.5: Temporary Traffic Signals or Flaggers for ELJ construction.

MP 10: Temporary Traffic Signals for construction of Canyon Creek Bridge

• Travelers should expect delays at each of these locations, up to a total of 30 minutes per passage through the project corridor Mon. through Fri.., 7 a.m.- 6 p.m.

• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
