The West End Sportsmen’s Club is a vibrant organization dedicated to promoting outdoor sports, recreation, and community engagement. Members can participate in a variety of activities, such as archery and shooting sports, and attend educational workshops on conservation and wildlife management.
The club provides a welcoming environment for enthusiasts of all skill levels. Regular meetings, competitions, and social gatherings foster camaraderie among members while encouraging responsible outdoor practices. Additionally, the club engages in community service and youth programs to help educate the next generation about the importance of sportsmanship, wildlife management, and safety through state-certified hunter education classes.
Whether you are a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or someone eager to learn new skills, the Sportsmen’s Club offers an excellent opportunity to connect, learn, and enjoy the great outdoors together. Established in 1946, we are proud to have over a hundred members!
Currently, we need a club secretary, a vital position within our organization. If you are interested in stepping up for this critical role, please get in touch with Club President Randy Mesenbrink at 360-640-2238.
In addition to our rifle and pistol range, our club offers trap shooting and .22 rifle competitions. On the first Sunday in May, we host Kids Fishing Day, an event that attracts participants from near and far! Be sure not to miss our Annual Pig Roast, which will be held this year on Saturday, Sept. 13. This meal is open to all members and the public. We will have a meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. at the clubhouse to plan the event. Can you help us make this a success?
Membership dues are varied and reasonable; however, they do not fully cover our annual costs to keep the clubhouse open, with insurance for the shooting range being our most significant expense. We rely on donations to support Kids Fishing Day, while the Pig Roast event serves as our primary fundraiser.
Most importantly, we need our strong membership of over 100 individuals to participate to ensure the future of the club for the next several generations! Our meetings are held from September through May on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the clubhouse, located at 243 Sportsman’s Club Road. The next meeting is on September 17.
