PORT ANGELES, WA —Jake Seegers announced on Sunday that he will run for Clallam County Commissioner, District 3, filing as an independent candidate. Seegers released a campaign video outlining his interest in local governance and his priorities for the county.
Seegers, a local business professional and father of three, said his decision to run is based on a desire to increase public involvement and transparency in county decision-making.
“This campaign is about people,” Seegers said. “Many residents feel disconnected from how county decisions are made. I want to help create a process where community voices are heard and considered.”
According to Seegers, his campaign will focus on several county-level issues, including housing affordability, economic development, homelessness, public safety and privacy concerns, and fiscal oversight. He said he intends to evaluate proposals by asking two core questions: Is it essential? and Is it effective?
The announcement video, filmed during a recent community gathering, features comments from residents about their priorities and hopes for the future of Clallam County. The video is available at www.jakeseegers.com
and on the campaign’s social media pages.
The campaign slogan, “Dream Something New, Build Something Better,” reflects Seegers’ stated emphasis on collaborative problem-solving and community-based planning.
