The Forks Spartans girls basketball team was more aggressive and faster to the ball in a 49 – 42 hometown win over the 7-5 Raymond – South Bend Ravens.

The Spartans had more steals than a convicted career burglar, which they gleefully turned into easy layups.

Neither team was really warm from the perimeter, although the Ravens’ 5’9” Senior Kassie Koski hit 5, 3-point shots and led the Ravens with 20 points.

Koski went over the 1000-point mark for her career.

For Forks Junior Bailey Johnson was unstoppable, taking the ball to the window. Johnson scored 13 of her game-high 27 points in the first half.

6’0” Junior Avery Dilley hit the offensive boards hard and scored 12 points, with 5 coming from the free throw line.

The Spartans led by 3 – 6 points for most of the game until Johnson’s layup with 6:20 left in the game gave the Spartans a 48-37 lead, and the Ravens never threatened.

Chloe Gaydeski hit for 6 points, Fynlie Peters scored 3 points, and Brooklynn Rondeau hit a free throw.
