Anna May Klepps, lovingly known as Mom, Gramma Ann, and Auntie Ann, was born on December 27, 1948, in Aberdeen, Washington. She began her schooling in Pierce, Idaho, and later graduated as part of the Forks High School Class of 1967.
Ann was born to Tom and Anna Haasl and was one of five siblings, including sister and best friend Pat Braithwaite, Emma Henry, Rose Norbisrath, and Carla Ray. In September of 1968, she married Chuck Klepps, beginning a partnership that would anchor her devoted family life.
Ann was a proud and loving mother to Todd Klepps (Michelle), Tina Johnson (Greg), and Seth Klepps (great-grandson). Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren: Dillan Klepps, Braedon Klepps, Logan Klepps, Kyleigh Kimball (Kurt), Troy Johnson (Brittany), Wyatt Johnson, and Drew Johnson. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
With the addition of a bonus daughter, Felipa (Josh) Richardson.
Ann dedicated many years of service to the United States Postal Service, working in Forks, Beaver, and Sekiu. She retired as Postmaster of the Forks Post Office, a role she fulfilled with pride, integrity, and a deep connection to her community. In retirement, Ann devoted herself wholeheartedly to loving and helping raise her great-grandchild, Seth Klepps, a role that brought her immense purpose and joy.
An adventurer at heart, Ann cherished her travels with family and close friends, especially Sarah and Mary. Her travels included memorable trips to the Hawaiian Islands, the Oregon Sand Dunes, river rafting through the Grand Canyon, camping throughout Washington State, and visiting her lifelong friend, Nancy Cowger, in Pierce, Idaho.
Closer to home, Ann found happiness in simple pleasures—beach combing, clam digging, and gathering with family. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her.
A potluck Celebration of Life will be held on March 21 at 2 p.m. at the Forks Congregational Church. All who knew and loved Ann are welcome to attend. Please bring one of your favorite dishes and a memory to share in her honor.
